Erica calls us home to ourselves through our own dance in our own time. She holds sacred space and deliciously facilitates us to slip out of our everyday and immerse ourselves in the beauty, power and truth that lie beneath the surface of our being.

Dear friends,

I want to tell you about a book I love called ----

Imagine a Woman in Love with Herself: Embracing Your Wisdom and Wholeness

by Patricia Lynn Reilly, Preface by Sark, Conari Press, Copywrite 1999

“Imagine a book created that supports our actual and essence selves. That’s what this book is.” Sark (her comment on this book)

Imagine a Woman in Love with Herself is a 208 page soft-covered book based on the twenty stanzas of Patricia Lynn Reilly’s stunning poem of the same name.

I can’t tell you how many times I have recited this poem, to myself, to friends, and to women of the DOWH practice, as nutritive food for the soul and psyche, to transform our self-criticism into self-celebration. In fact, this book supports, and is in total alignment with, the principles of DOWH, which is why I so whole-heartedly use it and recommend it.

Through women-affirming reflections, inspirational meditations and practical tools, each chapter engages the imagination (one of our most powerful resources and tools); to invite us to gaze in the mirror and look at our own reflection and image with new compassionate eyes and open heart.

From the 1st stanza to the last, Patricia’s message is crystal clear- “to descend into the richness of who you are, reclaim your inner resources, and grow in knowledge and love of yourself”.

“Imagine a woman who believes it is right and good she is woman.

A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories.

Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life.”

Reading this book is like sitting around a hearth-fire listening to a wise grandmother impart her knowledge and love, reminding us of our beauty, wisdom and truth when we have forgotten. She/it will inspire you to be courageous, speak your own truth, dance in circles of women, embrace your life as teacher and healer, create original creations, and believe your body is enough. IMAGINE!

Here’s what I do when I need a little hit of inspiration in my day- I take “Imagine a Woman in Love with Herself” off my bookshelf, open it up anywhere (like using a divination deck) and read the page it opens to. There is always a little gem that grounds and moves me and reminds me of my own courage and beauty.

“Imagine a woman who has grown in knowledge and love of herself.

A woman who has vowed faithfulness to her own life and capacities.

Who remains loyal to herself. Regardless.”

“Imagine yourself as this woman.”

I highly recommend this book to EVERYWOMAN, regardless of where you are on your path. We ALL can benefit from these wise words, again and again.
